John Carter of Mars - Scientist telescope

A few years ago I did A TON of work for a series of books set in the John Carter of Mars universe, all published by Modiphius entertainment.

I'd have a lot to say about the original books setting, which - alas - shows its years.
But the artwork was fun to work on, and the publishers a pleasure to work with.

The unusual aspect ratio has to do with the portion of the page this illustration had to go in.

Also, yes the skin tone is weird, but it's intentional. This particular variety of Martians was.... identical to humans save from a red skin.
