Invaders

Like the stuff I've done recently, I've made this as part of my Blender learning process, so let's take this as another experiment:)

This time around I kind of learned how to animate displacement maps to make the energy effect at the center of the Invaders ship, how to make a camera wobble, and how to make a simple particle effect for the fighters contrails.

As usual, I painted over the still image in Krita, as renders always end up a bit too computer-y for my taste.

Ah, my wife pointed out that in the animation, one of the blinking spotlights at the top is pitch black and looks weird. So yes, I might have messed up the material assigned to the "off" position, but I didn't feel like waiting another 4 hours to fix the render, so it will stay like that for a while:)
